South Africa

About Me: Mashudu is a qualified lawyer with a commercial law background and was appointed as a Legal Researcher with a focus on the extractives industry at Corruption Watch. Mashudu leads the sustainable mining programme through the lens of anti-corruption and human rights objectives. She further heads up all local, regional and international mining and prospecting projects within the organisation and further develops strategic partnerships for the organisation’s anti-corruption, governance and legal policy initiatives within the sectors.

Within her time at Corruption Watch she has published two research reports which focused on anti-corruption remedies, governance, sustainability and legal policy in the mining sector. Both reports and her advocacy work has led to submissions tabled in the portfolio committee of mineral resources, a mutually beneficial partnership with the special advisors to the Minister of Mineral Resources, and regular submissions in the DMR research committee for parliament.
