About Me: Nick is Director of the Beverage Industry Environmental Roundtable (BIER) and has facilitated BIER’s Water Working Group for the past seven years. This working group engages 17 leading global beverage companies in continually demonstrating leadership in corporate water stewardship. This role has included leading several signature initiatives including Water Stewardship in the Beverage Industry framework and principles, Practical Perspective on Water-Related Business Risks and Opportunities guidance, True Cost of Water Toolkit, and Performance in Watershed Context decision support tool. In addition, Nick is the Sustainability Practice Lead for a Netherlands-based global consulting firm that has collectively screened over 26,000 global facilities for water risks and opportunities, conducted over 450 watershed-level assessments, and supported the advancement of corporate water stewardship for clients in multiple sectors across the globe. Previously Nick worked in the non-profit sector with the Global Environmental & Technology Foundation (GETF) in Washington, DC focused on private-public partnerships in water and sustainability and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kazakhstan. He Holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, a Master’s degree in Environmental and Energy Management and a Masters of Business Administration. Nick is married with two sons and lives in Denver, Colorado.
